Challenge
Festina Sweden is responsible for developing the Festina Group’s hybrid watches, and its team in Malmö has grown from a handful of people to 24 employees over the years. To keep pace with growing development needs and build watches that combine appealing design with up-to-date technology, the company needed additional software engineering capacity.
Solution
Sigma Technology placed two consultants directly inside Festina’s existing team: one focused on iOS app development, the other on back-end and cloud services. Together they worked on new app functionality as well as on extending the cloud infrastructure, built on services including Google Cloud, AWS Lambda and Google BigQuery.
Results
The collaboration produced new companion-app features, including music controls, photo capture, location reminders and a find-my-phone function. On the back-end side, the consultants helped prepare the system for upcoming products and automate manual processes. Festina describes working with the Sigma consultants as straightforward and consistently high in quality.
