Challenge

Upcoming EU regulation will require furniture manufacturers to issue digital product passports for the goods they sell. Pilot partner Johanson Design needed a way to make product data fully traceable and to properly document its origin, ownership and governance.

Solution

As part of the partly Vinnova-funded APPEND project, Sigma Technology built a content management system tailored specifically to the furniture industry. It was connected to Johanson Design’s existing ERP landscape and uses QR codes together with blockchain technology to manage product data centrally and make its authenticity verifiable.

Results

The new CMS was integrated seamlessly into Johanson Design’s existing IT infrastructure and is now fully operational. Blockchain-based verification gives the stored product data a reliable, tamper-proof record of origin and integrity.
